A century ago a man walked into a building, climbed seven flights of stairs, put on a straightjacket, and threw himself out of a window.

Dramatic? Yes. But the man wanted people to know what he was about.

He didn’t jump out of just any building, he jumped out of the window of the newspaper offices. The next day, every person in San Francisco knew his name. Later that night, he performed more magic tricks — this time in front of a paying audience, as part of a sold-out show.

This is the art of marketing at its finest.

  1. I’ve been trying to subscribe but the process of email confirmation keeps repeating itself. I’ve entered my email address at least three times, but it keeps bringing me back to the “confirm your email” tab.

    1. Youre confirmed. Once you confirm your e-mail it takes you to the homepage, that is all, and it can be a bit confusing to folks.

      Will add a confirmation e-mail to let subscribers know they’ve been added to the list.
