They say a picture is worth a thousand words. That may be true.
But a thousand words, crafted to perfection, written in the most clear manner possible, edited over and over again, those words can often leave readers speechless.
In a world of so many tech gadgets, of YouTube and Netflix binging, it feels as if the written word has lost its power.
But is it so?
I strenuously believe that we are made of words, not atoms. That it is stories that act as the glue that holds it all together: who we are, who we used to be, where we have been.
Without stories, the world would be empty. Cold. Pointless.
Without words, it would be as if we didn’t exist.
Keep this in mind as you write your next post. Keep this in mind as you sit down at your desk to write the best thousand words ever. The words that are going to shake the world a bit.
Never, ever, ever underestimate the power of great engaging content, polished and published on your blog. That’s where things can, and often do, get very interesting.
Have you written your 1000 words today?
“Without words, it would be as if we didn’t exist.” Without language we’d be dead already even while our bodies would still be functioning. Loved what you wrote here. Have wonderful holidays:)
Thank you, Laureen.
Great words, and a reminder that are words are important especially when they are sculpted well.
Great write-up! I love it for its clarity and simplicity. It’s really what I need.
Thank you!
It is believed that the term first came into existence. Everything has come after that. The power of the word will remain.
Bravo.
Thank you!
Another great post. 🔥
Thank you!
I was born and grown up when the internet has been booming, the innovation makes me spend less time in reading and use whole day to suffer FB, IG, etc. But occasionally, my sister lent me her book just few months ago, I just recognized about how strong and interesting words are. Words make me to live slowly, to acknowledge more value of life, words. I would say that I need to read more, describe my thought, my feeling through words.
Love what you have written. It is short, but it is glamorous.
Btw, please forgive my bad English ability.
Love what you have written. It is short but it is glamorous.
I recently realized the power of words when my sister lent me a book. Words help us describe feelings, thinking. I have created a blog where I can use words to express my ideas, feelings about daily life.
The written word will always have its place. Yes, images are awesome, videos, podcasts, audio books, etc – but the written word cannot be replaced, and should be celebrated. Very best wishes for 2020.
You are right, Paula. The written word is here to stay.
Yes, and thank you, it was because of one of your blogs about just do it, that I did. Look forward to reading many more of your blogs!
Thank you, Pamela!
Interesting. I worked with the state during 10 years. The results of our research (2016) on our true essence was that indeed vocabulary is the key. Maybe the key was precision and an ability to find the words.
