Want to be a rock star of the blogging world?
You can be.
You can be the go-to individual for your particular niche, especially when a citation, quote, or interview is necessary for the media (social and traditional).
Having a strong Internet presence goes a very long way thanks to the ever-increasing use of search engines and the power of social media, but to truly become a rockstar of blogging, you need to do a few more things.
For example, you can:
- publish a book (or a couple)
- seek broadcast media attention
- star in a radio show or podcast
- speak at conferences and trade shows
- run your own seminars
- work out joint ventures with relevant players
- network like crazy based on all of the above
If you want to be considered an expert in your field, someone with the knowledge but also the skill to effectively pass down that knowledge, you must act like it.
Fake it until you make it, as they say.
You need to do the kind of things people who are the best at what they do tend to do. Emulate them. Develop the same habits they have.
A rockstar of blogging knows that the Internet wouldn’t be the same without him. He knows the value of personal branding, he knows that his reputation is developed and maintained by how he enhances the lives of others and what those people have to say about him, not what he says about himself.
You must have supreme self-confidence, otherwise… why would anyone else have confidence in you?

I am not aiming to be a rock star. I am retired. I’m interested in getting my blog read more, but not if it means wheeling and dealing. Good luck to you. I’m done with all that.

In my retirement, I just want to my travel more independently and blogs help me accomplish this goal.

I totally agree with the “Fake it ’til you make it”, then you’ll become a person who ” just make it”. Thank you for this post 😀

The internet wouldn’t be the same without me. I’d like to believe that. I will believe that. Thanks Cristian!

Omg yes! Exactly! It is darned effing difficult to do them all at once. I’m not… a content creator nor an online identity. Thus my infuriating frustration at… all this stuff. Haha.

Great post! I am still in the early stages of my newest blog, but working towards differentiating myself and producing quality content while networking…a lot at once but fun at the same time! Check me out if you are interested in floral DIY inspiration 💐😊

I love this! Makes me realize that anyone can become a “rockstar” of blogging if they want to. I really like how you explain that to be an expert in your field (blogging) you have to act like it and go for it. I’m excited about these tips and how you say for anyone else to have confidence in you and your writing you need to be confident in yourself. Time to go work on my own blog and spiff it up!

Well written! We must first have confidence before others have on us.
