[Blogging Mindset] You Are a Blogstar

If you were to look at the night sky with your naked eye, you’d spot some 3,000 stars. Use a small telescope, and the number increases to close to 100,000.

Of course, there are actually one hundred billion stars in our galaxy alone, and a galaxy usually contains anywhere between ten million to one trillion stars. Oh, and there are some hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

So there are so many stars in the universe, we might as well consider that a infinity of stars exist.

But one could argue that the vast majority of those stars are irrelevant to us, because we can’t even see them, and they are too far away to have any direct impact on us.

Actually, there is but one star that matters a lot more than any other. Our own Sun. This star is important, because without it, there would be no us. No me, no you. No life on this Planet. No Internet.

It doesn’t matter how many blogs are out there. Your relevance to your readers is independent of how much content exists on the web.

Most content is invisible, not worth seeing.

Are you just another star in a seemingly infinite universe? Do you see yourself as just another grain of sand on a beach?

And, yes, it takes back-breaking amounts of work to stand out, to be relevant to your readers, but if you turn yourself into a sun, no matter how small your audience is, you’ll find out that the benefits of blogging are more numerous that you ever thought possible.

Think of the Sun.

How are you going to turn into one for your audience? How is your content going to impact your readers’ lives? How are you going to make yourself so important that they couldn’t care less about all the other blogs out there?

    1. Thank you, Cailin.

And you should. Even if you fail, you’ll still be a lot better than just another star out of billions and billions.

As they say, shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you will land among the stars.

    1. Thank you!

And, yes, this also applies to other areas of life as well. Most of my posts about blogging mindset do.

This one I think asks a simple question: Do you want to be like everyone else, or pay the price to become something different?

      1. That’s pretty much it. Not magic, just a lot of hard work.

Michelangelo is quoted as saying that if people knew how hard he had to work for his mastery, it would not seem so wonderful after all.
